Applies To
- Outreach Admins
- Kaia
Before you begin
What is numeric redaction?
Numeric redaction recognizes when four or more digits in a sequence are spoken out loud during a recorded call or meeting and then both:
- mutes (silences) that portion of the recorded meeting audio.
- excludes that portion from the meeting transcript and AI summary.
Calls/Meetings with redactions have a badge applied on the call recording page to indicate redaction processing has been applied.
What is not redacted?
As number redaction is a post-processing function, any functions or features engaged in real time during a live call/meeting will not be subject to redaction.
Currently, redaction is only available for strings of numbers (four or more digits spoken in a sequence). Automated recognition and redaction of other types of information spoken in a meeting/call recording is not supported.
Key Considerations
- Numeric redaction enablement for users is controlled by a profile setting that is configured by the Outreach Admin. It cannot be modified directly by end users with a redaction-enabled profile.
- Once numeric redaction is enabled for a profile, all future Kaia calls/meetings hosted by users with that profile will be processed for redaction—redaction processing cannot be enabled/disabled for only certain meetings.
- Whether a meeting is processed for redaction is determined by the redaction setting of the meeting host.
- Redaction processing cannot be done retroactively (on meetings/calls that occurred before the host's profile was enabled for redaction). The redaction setting for the meeting host at meeting start determines whether the meeting is processed for number exclusion.
- The call recording and transcript are not available until after the redaction processing has been completed. This can take a few minutes depending on the meeting duration.
- Number redaction is a permanent process—the redacted portions of a recording/transcript/summary cannot be recovered or seen by any user, including Admins.
Procedure
- Access the Outreach Platform as an Outreach Admin.
- In the left nav, click Administration.
- Click User management > Access control.
- In the Profiles tab (open by default), find and click the profile on which to apply numeric redaction.
- Find the section for Kaia Meetings > Kaia Recording Options.
- To apply redaction, under Redact sensitive Information, select On.
- Click Save.
Now, users with this profile will have number strings of four or more digits automatically excluded in recordings, transcripts, and summaries of meetings and calls going forward.
