Screenshare content in Microsoft Teams not captured in Kaia recording

Symptom

When presenting/sharing the screen in Microsoft Teams (e.g., when sharing a PowerPoint presentation), the screen share isn't captured in the Kaia recording.

Resolution

To prevent this issue from occurring in Teams meetings, from the Share options in MS Teams, select only one of of the following: 

• Screen - This will share your entire screen rather than a specific window, application, tool, or embedded browser content.

• Window - This will share a specific open window on your screen, like a browser page or an open application.

Cause

This typically occurs because the screenshare was initiated using a share option in Teams other than Screen or Window, such as PowerPoint Live or another dedicated app. Kaia will only pick up the shared screen content from the full screen or window capturing experience. 

While Teams has multiple ways to share content in meetings, the use of dedicated apps for sharing does not technically pull from what's on your screen itself. Though your end user experience may appear identical, content shared through dedicated app options like PowerPoint Live will be unavailable to Kaia.
