Using Kaia Translations

Created by Mike Goodwin, Modified on Mon, 9 Feb at 11:01 PM by Alsabana Sahubarali

Objective

Transcripts and Summaries from Kaia recordings are now translatable from one language to another and allows a user to set a default translation language so that meeting recordings they open are automatically translated into their preferred language

Applies To

  • Outreach User

Before You Begin

  • Requires Kaia
  • This does not increase the number of languages which can be used to transcribe recordings
  • An admin must ensure the setting Allow users with access to translate recordings into other languages is enabled under Kaia Administration settings.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Outreach.
  2. Click Kaia.
  3. Select a recording.
  4. In the top right of the recording, the language currently configured is displayed. Picture
  5. Click on the language.
  6. The following options are available
    1. Language
      • This is the target language you are translating to
    2. Set as default
      • If a language is set as default, any future recordings you open will be automatically translated to that language if the meeting was not originally transcribed in that language
    3. Re-Transcribe
      • This is used when the language of the meeting was detected incorrectly during the initial transcribing and is different from translating. For instance, if a meeting takes place in Swedish but it was accidentally detected as Norwegian, you would want to re-transcribe the meeting to Swedish to have the best possible results. Picture
